Peaceful Valley

By Ruth Martin

  I looked upon a peaceful valley
  So green and lovely lying there.
  The sun shone bright and birds were singing;
  A rippling stream flowed clear and fair.

  Each man can find his Peaceful Valley-
  A Place to go when Days are long,
  A Place to rest when Life grows dreary,
  A Place to hide when Things go wrong;
  A Place where Time and Miles are nothing,
  Where Yester-Year is like Today,
  Where Love's door stands forever open
  And bids you come Inside and stay.

  My Heart has found it's Peaceful Valley.
  I hurry there when Day is gone.
  I close it's Gate on Life's  frustrations
  I call my Peaceful Valley...HOME.
