Bits 'N Blessings

Christmas is a Lonely Time

By Ruth Martin

Christmas is a lonely time;
My heart weeps all alone.
I think of happy other years
And wonder where they've gone.

Sadly, Christmas is not always  a happy time. For some people it is the  worse day in the year. In the midst of bright lights and decorations, carols and merry gatherings with family, Christmas trees and presents, cheerful greetings and Christmas cards,  there are many people wearing  holiday smiles to hide the loneliness and pain inside a broken and sad  heart. The very happiness and joy expressed all around them only makes their own pain more excruciating. They are drowning on unshed tears, choking back sobs and shrieks of sheer misery while all the sights and sounds of  Christmas mock them. I have known such times and only the grace  of the Christ of Christmas brought me through.
